Easter and Spring DIY Ideas From The Past

A big happy hello to you, friends!
I was just going through some older posts
and thought I would reshare a few of these fun Easter and Spring tutorials
since Spring has arrived and Easter is just a few days away.

And Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb
on Earth’s dark breast
rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.
-Percy Bysshe Shelley, "The Sensitive Plant" -

First up are these sweet Scripture eggs.
The eggs are made with fabric and they have a little pocket on the front.
Inside you will find a verse or hymn regarding the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The eggs are hanging from some simple branches that have been tucked into a vase.
You can find the tutorial by clicking here.

And while we're on the subject of eggs,
here are some shabby eggs nestled in a fabric basket.
The tutorial can be found here
and it includes directions for the eggs and basket.

These oh-so-pretty clothespins are incredibly easy to make
and they perfect to add to an Easter gift
or to use around your home for some Spring decor.
Add magnets to the backside
and place them on the fridge with Scriptures
or Easter vintage postcards hanging from them.
Tutorial can be found here.

Just the other day my son and I were looking at baby chicks
and oh, how precious they are!
Spring and baby chicks go hand-in-hand, don't you agree?
These chicks are made with fabric
and can be found resting in some vintage molds.
Find the tutorial here.

Need something for brunch on Easter morning?
This blackberry coffee cake is ever so tasty.
Find the recipe here.

There is a green hill far away, outside a city wall,
where the dear Lord was crucified, who died to save us all.
We may not know, we cannot tell what pains He had to bear;
but we believe it was for us He hung and suffered there.
O dearly, dearly has He loved!
And we must love Him too,
and trust in His redeeming blood, and try His works to do.
- Cecil Frances Alexander -

This birdcage has a cross placed inside
which makes for a beautiful statement during the Easter and Spring season.
Complete tutorial can be found here.

How about some Spring flowers
that don't need any watering.
These little lovelies are made with fabric
and all they need is a little dusting every now and then.
Easy Peasy tutorial found here.

And finally, here are some sweet Spring bunnies
to put a smile on your face.
These cutie pies are fun to whip up
and they add a certain amount of charm to your home.
The tutorial shows you how to make the bunnies
along with the fabric basket.
You can find the tutorial here.

It's always a pleasure to have you stop by for a visit.
I sincerely hope you have a blessed and most joyous Easter.

Before I leave I thought I would share these fun pictures
of my dear mom and sister with you.
They were taken last Sunday when we got together for lunch.
We had not intended on wearing the same colors,
but I guess "great minds think alike."
{{smiles}}
Or it just shows we are indeed related and tend to think the same way
whether we like it or not - HA!

And of course I just have to share a few pictures of the kittens.
They are now 18-days-old and just as precious as ever!
They are walking a lot more
and often I will find them crawling all over Mama Hanny.
They are getting more vocal and Hanny gets just as vocal with them.
It's quite amusing to watch the four of them.

Oh, just look at those sweet kitty paws
all curled up!

Ol' Chubs { the black cat} is waiting patiently to be held.

Hanny's face seems to say,
"Ah, peace and quiet at last."

I hope you leave today
with a beautiful smile on your face.

Love and hugs to you!

I can relate to fun times when I look at you, Debbie and your sister. My two daughters and I haven't taken a threesome photo for some time because of distance but I love it when we're together. How sweet that you all had the same colour scheme for the day!
The kitties are still adorable and I always like looking at any crafts you've made. The little eggs with scripture would be nice to use at an Easter tea.
Easter blessings to you and family.

My dear, you are so talented! I always love seeing your creations. Since we have added two "large" dogs to our house, I have had to minimize having cute things around, so it is even more fun seeing what you have!
Your kittens are adorable!!!
Fun seeing you with the other ladies of your family. Beautiful!
Hope you had a Happy Easter!
